LEELEE SOBIESKI – ARTIST

You will best remember Leelee Sobieski as a teenage star who used to dominate the big screen with her movies Deep Impact, Eyes Wide Shut, Never Been Kissed, and more. Despite getting nominations and on her way to be a great award-winning actress, the now-37-year-old star left Hollywood and focused on being an artist. She officially retired as an actress in 2012 and started her art career.

Hollywood might not be Leelee’s calling, as she seemed to be fonder of painting and sculpting to an incredible degree. She also works in VR, using Google Tilt Brush. Leelee uses her married name, Leelee Kimmel, in this business and held her first-ever solo exhibit, called Channels, in Brooklyn. It quickly earned positive reviews, with Vogue saying her work of art “warrants serious merit.” Leelee’s artwork mostly features bright colors, abstracted, and textured shapes floating on vast black or white backgrounds.
